Rotary Club of Nakawa aims to contribute to a better Uganda and a better world by providing services to those in need. The club in partnership with Naguru Teenage Information Centre conducted a medical camp for the Kasokoso community in the Nakawa division. The medical camp was held on 24th October 2021 at St. Mary’s SS Kasokoso.
The camp target was to immunize polio so as to create a polio-free world, and to vaccinate Covid 19 so as to reduce the spread of Covid 19 among the population.
Youth in the Nakawa division are continuously faced with enormous Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health challenges that have continuously led to high teenage pregnancies, early childbearing, unsafe abortions, and the acquisition of STIs among others. Restrictions on movement, lockdowns, closure of schools, and curfews have equally curtailed young people’s ability to access sexual and reproductive health-related services. The camp also targeted the youth of age 10-24 years old.
The medical camp was sponsored by Crown Beverages Ltd, Qbranch U) Ltd, and Katumba Estates Ltd.
